Pen Plotter Experimentations

Posted by studiolabpsu in Experimentations, Ongoing

Moving onto further steps with our prototyping processes, here are a series of pen plotted prints made of Matt Kenney’s 3D renderings in Rhino. Pen plotters as defined by Wikipedia “prints by moving a pen or other instrument across the surface of a piece of paper.” Normally restraint to only vector based or line based artworks, the pen plotter is nonetheless a marvelous printing tool which provides a more organic looking effect as compared to laser or inkjet prints. These posters are printed using pencils as well as black and green pens.

And for the curious, here is how the pen plotter looks like while it is printing.
